La Cumbia (De Lo Que Pudo Ser) is a tragic love story between documentarian and subject. Soma must choose between their mother and a chance at great love. While the story is rooted in the traditions of Oaxaca, it was filmed entirely in Los Angeles on a stage, built by production designer Morgan Spurr along with a couple location days!
